Cookies or web beacons
Our website automatically collects certain non-personal information about the use of our site, which is stored on our servers for exclusively internal purposes, such as facilitating your visit to our site, improving your online experience, or for access statistics.
For the aforementioned purposes, we may also use “cookies”, web beacons and other technologies. “Cookies” are text files that are automatically downloaded and stored on the hard drive of the user’s computer when browsing a specific web page; they allow the web server to remember certain data about that user, including their preferences for displaying the pages on that server, name and password. Web beacons are images embedded in a web page or email, which may be used to monitor the behavior of a visitor, to store information about the user’s IP address, the duration of the interaction time on that page and the type of browser used, among other things.
“Cookies” and web beacons allow us to tailor a web page or advertisement to your interests and preferences. In most Internet browsers you can delete “cookies” from your computer’s hard drive, block them, or receive a warning before a “cookie” is installed. Please consult your browser’s instructions or help screen to learn more about how these technologies work and how to disable them.
Security measures
Instituto San Gerardo has established and maintains administrative, technical and physical security measures that allow it to protect your personal data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction, or unauthorized use, access or processing, in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to the privacy notice
In the event of modifications to this Privacy Notice, such modifications will be made available to the public through the following means: (i) visible notices in our establishments or customer service centers; (ii) leaflets or brochures available in our establishments or customer service centers; (iii) on our website [privacy notice section]; (iv) or we will send them to the last email address you provided to us.
Use of social network “plug-ins”
Plug-ins (“plug-ins”) of the social networks facebook.com and Twitter may be added to our web pages. The associated services are provided by the companies Facebook Inc. and Twitter Inc., respectively (“Providers”).
Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). For an overview of the Facebook plug-ins and their appearance, go to:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins
Twitter is operated by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. For an overview of the Twitter options and their appearance, go to:
https://dev.twitter.com/web/tweet-button
To increase data protection when you visit our web pages, these plug-ins are implemented as “2-click buttons”. This form of integration ensures that, when you access a page within our website that contains such plug-ins, you are not automatically connected to the Providers’ servers. Only if you activate the plug-ins, thereby granting permission for data transmission, will the browser create a direct link to the Providers’ servers. The content of the various plug-ins is transmitted by the Provider in question directly to the browser and then appears on the screen.
The plug-in tells the Provider which of our web pages you have accessed. If, while viewing our website, you are logged in to your Facebook or Twitter user account, the Provider is able to associate your interest, that is, the information you are accessing, with your user account. When you use any of the plug-in functions (for example, by clicking the “Like” button or leaving a comment), this information is also transmitted by the browser directly to the Provider to be recorded.
For more information on this and on the use of data by Facebook or Twitter, as well as on the rights and options available to protect your privacy in these circumstances, please refer to the Providers’ data protection / privacy notices:
Data protection / privacy notice issued by Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php
Data protection / privacy notice issued by Twitter: https://twitter.com/privacy
To prevent Facebook or Twitter from linking your visit to our website to your user account with these Providers, you will have to log out of the corresponding user account before accessing our web pages.
